We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay of a tassie holiday.
The hotel was exceptionally clean based in a classical style building with especially helpful staff. Loved staying at the a double room with original interiors, a table and chairs.

The hotel exceeded my expectations in terms of value for money. The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the attention to detail and the central location in the heart of Hobart. The staff were friendly and helpful, making me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The rooms had original interiors, giving them a unique charm that added to the overall experience. I loved that the hotel provided basic amenities such as fresh towels daily, as well as a selection of books and games for entertainment. Additionally, having bathrooms in the hallway was not an issue at all, as they were clean and easily accessible. Lastly, the fact that breakfast was included, and they offered a delicious muesli, was definitely a bonus.
There was nothing major that needed improvement at this hotel. Everything was okay.

This accommodation is a great value option for budget-conscious travelers who want to be in the heart of the city. You can easily walk to popular attractions such as a market, botanical garden, and brewery. The hosts are very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast is included in the room rate, which is always a plus. The vintage furniture and decor provide a nostalgic atmosphere that reminds you of an older time.
It could suit someone who wants to have high-tech amenities.

Breakfast was decent, and the internet was free. The location is key, as it's right in the middle of everything. You can walk to most of the tourist spots from here in just a few minutes. The room was okay, it had everything I needed.
There was a lot of noise outside all night, so I didn't get much sleep. The building is old and creaky, and I could hear every sound from other guests and the street.

The location of the hotel was fantastic, just a short walk to many attractions and restaurants in the area. The breakfast that was included was a great bonus, offering a good start to the day. The comfortable rooms and friendly staff were also a plus.
The lack of air conditioning in the rooms was a downside, which made it difficult during warmer periods. , the shared bathrooms could be inconvenient during busy times.

The central location of this hotel was perfect for us, as we were able to easily explore all that the city had to offer. We were just two city blocks away from the city centre, where we could find shops, cafes, and attractions. the hotel was conveniently located near the wharves area, giving us easy access to the beautiful restaurants and the lively Salamanca Markets.
The only downside we experienced was the initial discomfort with one of the twin beds. However, the staff promptly addressed the issue and provided a more comfortable bed, ensuring that we had a pleasant stay in the end.

I recently stayed at the Astor Private and had a fantastic experience! The hotel has a unique charm that takes you back in time. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, with lovely windows that let in fresh air. The shared bathrooms are clean and well-maintained, with separate facilities for each gender. The location couldn't be better, just a short walk to Salamanca Place and the harbor. The friendly atmosphere and the opportunity to meet other travelers made my stay even more enjoyable. The continental breakfast is a great way to start the day, and the personal touch from Tildy, the wonderful hostess, made me feel right at home. Despite a few minor drawbacks, like the lack of power points in the room and the absence of air conditioning, I would definitely recommend the Astor Private Hotel for anyone visiting Hobart. I had a fantastic stay and would happily return.

The hotel had a lovely old-style charm and decor that I really loved. The rooms were basic but extremely clean and tidy. The shared bathrooms were spotless and I never had any issues with them being occupied when I needed to use them. The owner, Tildy, was a fantastic host, making me feel like an old friend rather than a guest. She was always available and provided excellent communication before and during my stay.
The hotel had an old heating system that took several hours to cool or heat the room, which could be inconvenient if there were unexpected weather changes. However, this was not a major issue during my stay.
